Did You Know?

Piranha's propellers offer the unique ability to change their pitch far beyond a normal aluminum or stainless steel propeller — 5 times more in most cases!

Durability

Piranha uses superior engineering thermoplastics. Every Piranha Propeller is made from a fiberflass reinforced nylon resin - which is not unlike the material used in your fiberglass boat. The composite propeller is built tough. Our propellers are 15% stronger than die-cast aluminum, have lower vibration, and improved impact properties.

Tensile Strength Comparison
Die-Cast Aluminum 36,000 psi
Regular Composites 26,000 psi
Verton© Technology 42,000 psi

The Piranha Propeller Hub

A Piranha Propeller's hub is designed in a unique way, such that it will not slip like a conventional aluminum or stainless steel propeller. At the center of a conventional propeller, the rubber bushing will degrade over time, causing the hub to slip. The core of the Piranha Propeller hub is manufactured from high strength aluminum, with a durable composite shell over molding. The hub is so durable, we offer a lifetime warranty and will replace any damaged hub that is returned to the factory.

The Boat Propeller Challenge

Your boat's propeller is one of the most critical elements to your boat's performance. If your current propeller is dinged, bent, slipping, or out of balance, your are potentially damaging your lower unit and definitely losing potential performance. Replacing the entire propeller is painful, rebuilding a conventional propeller runs between $80.00 and $150.00, and usually leaves you without a propeller for weeks.

Our solution to this is the Piranha Propeller. The average cost to repair a Piranha Propeller is just $40.00, and will take you only five to ten minutes.

Purchasing a quality outboard propeller can be very challenging. Propeller designs come in overwhelming sizes and configurations. Selecting the wrong propeller is expensive and time consuming, which makes finding a boat propeller a chore.

Our goal at Piranha is to help you make an educated choice, and get the right propeller for your outboard motor or sterndrive. Piranha fits outboard and inboard / outboard applications - and has the solution to your individual propeller needs.

Our knowledgeable techicians are available to assist you in the proper selection of your new Piranha Propeller and answer any installation questions. We also feature the automated Piranha Prop Finder, which you can access here on our site, helping you find a propeller in the comfort of your own home!

An Alternative Approach to Propeller Repair

Metal propellers are repaired by welding, heating, beating, and bending it back into shape - and that's in cases of only light to mild damage! A skilled propeller repair shop can do this possibly once or twice before the propeller has to be retired. Even a perfect repair does not return the propeller to it's original conditon. The repaired propeller has been weakened by the heating and cooling process, which increases the likelihood that the propeller will crack and fail under load. Pitch and balance are also affected by propeller rebuilding, which may have adverse effects on it's performance and vibration.

Piranha Propellers changed all this by developing a propeller with replaceable blades - completely revolutionizing propeller repair. Damaged blades are simply replaced in minutes, restoring the propeller to factory condition. No need to end your day at the lake - Piranha allows you to continue having fun!

It is also worth mentioning that when your propeller gets hit, more damage is done than just to the propeller. The propeller shaft and drivetrain can also be damaged by a severe propeller strike. The material used to manufacture the Piranha Propeller absorbs the impact much better than an aluminum or stainless steel propeller, essentially eliminating the possibility of lower unit damage. Piranha has now saved you thousands of dollars in lower unit repair. Piranha works with commercial operators saving many thousands of dollars annually, by lowering repair costs all around the lower unit.
